A METHOD OF FAILURE ANALYSIS OF COMPLICATED STRUCTURES

Abstract:

The method of semi-model with virtual element is only limited tosymme-trical failure type of structures. It's necessary to establish an all-model structure when unsymmetrical failure of structures is analysed by using virtual element method. The aim of this paper is to make an equivalence between the variety of the structural rigidity and the variety of external force. In order to solve unsymmetrical failure problem of complicated structure by semi-model we assume that the original rigidity of the structure keeps constant and the equivalent additional force are a substitute for the rigidity effect of the failure elements. It is not only simple but also economical that the equivalent additional force of the failure element in the structures and structural failure analysis could be solved by means of "the method of dummy force". Besides, this method can be applied to analyse the design, the improvement and the failure for other structures.
