Abstract: A comprehensive description is given on the development process of the improved structures of the home-made protective helmet and oxygen mask in service, and the underwater strength test as well as the rocket-sled check test for obtaining the head and face protection while the ejection velocity is 1000km/h. Stress is laid on the discussion of the structure improving gists, the calculation method of the trailer speed in underwater test, the evaluation of the test results, and the analysis of phenomenon arising in rocket-sled test at a velocity of 1000 km/h.

Key words: safety devices, oxygen masks, underwater tests, rocket propelled sledds
