A NEW METHOD FOR PARALLEL BOUNDARY ELEMENT COMPUTATION

Abstract:

Combining the char act erist ics of boundary element computation, a new par allel anddistributed method for bounda ry element met hod is given. Using t he method, the total nodes ofBEM ar e first divided into sever al gr oups of nodes that are mapped onto the multipr ocessor system,and then the boundar y element comput ation r elated t o each gr oup is carr ied out by a pr ocessorindependent ly. Finally, the globa l bounda ry element equations ar e solved by the par alleliter ative solver developed herein. Numer ical exper iments on Inmos T ra nsputer System havebeen per formed to demonstrat e the power of the new method.
