A NUMERICAL METHOD FOR A MIXED BOUNDARY VALUE PROBLEM OF CIRCULAR PLATES

Abstract: By using the generalized variational principles of thin plate bending problem, a numerical method is proposed for a mixed boundary value problem of circular plate. The trial functions are constructed by using the series of particular solutions of the biharmonic equation. Two examples are presented to show the high convergence and reliability of the method.
