Analysis of Landing Impact Force of Aircraft Landing Gears Based on the Conception of Landing Aera

Abstract: The new conception of landing area is introduced, and a simplified model of the conventional oleo-pneumatic landing gear during the process of landing impact on the landing area is established. The mathematic model is also derived. The dynamic responses of the landing gear landing vertically with initial velocities of 2.70m/s and 3.545m/s are calculated respectively via Runge-Kutta procedure. Simulation results for both original model and this new model are presented to illustrate the effectiveness of this new model. The result shows that, in the two cases, the maximum of the impact loads on airframe is reduced 45% and 49% respectively.
