Research status on hypersonic vehicle fluid-thermal-structural coupling and software development

Abstract: A review of the state-of-the-art on fluid-thermal-structural coupling in hypersonic flow is provided. First, this paper briefly reviews the history and current status of the development of hypersonic vehicle. Starting from the physical definition, the coupling relationship between the various disciplines of hypersonic fluid-thermal-structural coupling problem and their modeling are summarized. Progress on the hypersonic vehicle fluid-thermal-structural coupling problem, especially in multidisciplinary coupling analysis strategies/methods, are summarized. From the aspect of the platform framework, function modules, coupling methods and technical features, etc., the coupled analysis plat-form for thermal environment and structure response (FL-CAPTER) developed by China aerodynamic research and development center (CARDC) are introduced. Finally, the development of the problems faced and future direc-tions in hypersonic vehicle fluid-thermal-structural coupling problem are outlined.
