Abstract: This research has focused on the behaviour of adding metal coated carbon fiber(MCF)to microwave absorbing coatings. It is found that MCF can be used to adjust the electromagnetic parameters of absorbing medium, improve the attenuating property of the absorber and widen the working frequency band. MCF can be applied to various absorptive medium materials and works mainly in the mechanism of resonant dissipation of incident microwave energy. It is also found that the microwave absorbing property of the MCF added absorber is independent on the electromagnetic parameters and the thickness of the absorber.
