Abstract:

In order to make more sufficient trade-off of key design indexes by combining the airliner market analysis with aircraft conceptual design,a design index sets evaluation method is proposed from the perspective of airline network system of systems.Fuel efficiency is considered as economic evaluation criteria in this method, and the probability density distribution of traffic volume which involves range probability and actual passenger number probability of the airlines is established based on the airline operational statistics.Combining with aircraft take-off weight estimation, the fuel weight of each airline is calculated, and then the probability density of fuel efficiency for different design index sets is obtained through multiple rounds of simulation. The analytical results are helpful to trade-off each design set for its most fitting operation airline, and they can also evaluate the attraction for airline companies from the perspective of fuel efficiency. The design index change of range and passenger number is analyzed through a case study and the application of proposed method is also demonstrated. Then the limitations of current research and future research direction are discussed.
