Abstract:

A dynamic model of the trailing antenna under wind and its simulation method are developed based on the microelement method, which is a very complex partial differential equation. It is transformed into a governing partial equation and a simple partial differential equation by perturbation procedure. Then the simple partial differential equation is discretized to obtain the numerical solution by the Galerkin method. Under the same flight conditions, the magnitude and frequency of the oscillation between the simulation and experiment are very close, which shows the dynamic model is dependable. Under the background of the average wind speed profile of south China sea (110E, 20N) in 2009, the dynamics of the trailing antenna is researched. The simulation results show that the antenna and the end drogue vibrate by a large displacement but it can be improved by controlling the bank angle.
